Our Story

Sweet Dreams Safe Haven Inc. was founded from a deeply personal commitment to ensure that youth, adults and families have welcoming places to find encouragement, practical mental wellness education and connections to supportive resources.
Founder and CEO Latoyria Djanie recognized that many individuals and families face emotional stress, difficult transitions and instability without consistent access to trusted information or caring community relationships. She created Sweet Dreams Safe Haven to help close that gap through prevention-focused education, mentoring, advocacy, family support, community outreach and resource navigation.
Our work is grounded in the belief that people should be treated with dignity, listened to without judgment and given meaningful opportunities to strengthen their lives. We use creative, culturally responsive and community-based approaches to help participants build resilience, improve communication, develop healthy coping skills and connect with appropriate support.
SDSH works collaboratively with families, schools, nonprofits, faith communities, healthcare organizations, businesses and civic partners. Rather than duplicating services, we seek to strengthen community connections and help people identify appropriate next steps.
Our vision extends beyond a single program. We are building a community-centered organization where youth, adults and families can access practical tools, positive relationships and opportunities that support sufficiency, stability and independence.

“Every person deserves to be heard, supported and given the opportunity to move forward with dignity.”
